FREE TESTING IN OBSERVANCE OF NATIONAL HIV TESTING DAY

EUSTIS, FL The Florida Department of Health in Lake County will be offering free HIV Testing on Monday, June 27th, 2016 from 11 am to 2 pm at the Walgreens located at 2010 Citrus Blvd. Leesburg, FL.  No appointment necessary.

National HIV Testing Day is a reminder to get the facts, get tested, and get involved to take care of yourself and your partners.  More than 90 percent of new HIV infections in the United States can be prevented by testing and diagnosing people who have HIV and ensuring they receive prompt, ongoing care and treatment.

“Protection against this disease starts with knowledge” said Aaron Kissler, Administrator of the Florida Department of Health in Lake County.  “This why this event is an excellent opportunity to get tested and learn your status”

CDC estimates that 1,218,400 people aged 13 years and older are living with HIV infection, including 156,300 (12.8%) who are unaware of their infection. Over the past decade, the number of people living with HIV has increased.
